Opera & Operetta by Nathan Fischer & Ella Gehrmann

Ella Gehrmann took part in the world premiere of the Festaktof the Akademie Musiktheater Heute in cooperation with Ensemble Modern in 2024. In the same year, she appeared as Gerda in the children's opera The Snow Queen at the Waggonhalle Marburg under the direction of Kerstin Weiß(Musica Europa). In winter 2025, she returned to the venue in the title role of a new adaptation of Antonín Dvořák's Rusalka. She made her operatic debut in spring 2026 as Micaëla in Georges Bizet's Carmen in a production of the Rheinland Oper. In winter 2026, she will once again appear as Gerda in The Snow Queen.

Ella Gehrmann is a recipient of the Bayreuth Scholarship 2026 and is supported by Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Frankfurt am Main e.V.

Beginning in the winter semester of 2026/27, she will pursue her Master's degree at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (HfMDK) in the class of Professor Natalie Karl. Previously, she studied for her Bachelor's degree in Voice there with Professor Thomas Heyer from the winter semester of 2022/23 onwards. In university productions, she made her debut as the Sorceress in Henry Purcell's Dido and Aeneas and will appear in the following semester as Countess Almaviva in an adaptation of W. A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro.

Benefit concerts and opera galas in the Frankfurt and Cologne regions have shaped her young artistic career. Solo engagements have taken her, among others, to the Staatstheater Darmstadt, the Rheingau Music Festival, and most recently to international stages in Thailand. Her repertoire spans opera, oratorio, and art song, encompassing works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Giacomo Puccini, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Robert Schumann, and many others.

She has received important artistic inspiration in both classical singing and musical theatre from Holger Falk, Klaus Häger, Julia Küsswetter, Peter Ling, Sabine Lahm, David Jones, and Noelle Turner.

Ella Gehrmann began her vocal training at the age of twelvewith Andrea Dippon-Meyer at the Odenwald Music Schooland later continued her studies privately with Marina Unruh. She has been awarded the Music School's AdvancementPrize on several occasions and was a successful participant in the German national youth music competition Jugend musiziert.

German-Thai tenor Nathan Fischer, 22, is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance under the guidance of Professor Thomas Heyer at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (HfMDK Frankfurt), Germany.

While still a student, he has established himself as a versatile and expressive concert artist. His repertoire spans the great oratorio literature from the Baroque to the Romantic period, including J.S. Bach's St John Passion and Christmas Oratorio, Handel's Messiah, Mendelssohn's Lobgesang (Hymn of Praise), as well as numerous cantatas and other sacred works.

Nathan Fischer appears regularly in recital and gala concerts, presenting a wide-ranging repertoire of opera and operetta arias with stylistic versatility and dramatic sensitivity.

He made his operatic debut in the 2024/25 season at Staatstheater Darmstadt in Pierangelo Valtinoni's The Little Prince. During the 2025/26 season, he reprised the production at Theater Hagen and appeared at Waggonhalle Marburg in a children's adaptation of Dvořák's Rusalka. Further stage engagements included the Third Jew in Richard Strauss's Salome at Theater Hagen and Pedrillo in a specially adapted production of Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail with the Opera Academy Bad Orb.

In the upcoming season, Nathan Fischer will make his role debut as Mime in a condensed version of Wagner's Siegfriedwith Rheinland Oper. He will also make his role debut as Vítek in Janáček's The Makropulos Case (Věc Makropulos)at Theater Hagen.

Alongside his studies, Nathan Fischer continues to refine hisartistry through masterclasses, including those led by Professor Thomas Heyer and Kammersängerin Diana Damrau. He is the recipient of the Inge Murjahn Prize of the Da Ponte Foundation Darmstadt and a two-time scholarship holder of the Giovanni Omodeo Foundation.
