Young & Talented Soloists of Thailand
Experience the artistry and energy of Thailand’s next generation of classical musicians with Young & Talented Soloists of Thailand, a special concert at Elder Blossom Hua Hin featuring six emerging performers on violin, viola and piano.
This concert brings together Amarad Khamsom, Yostirta (Yos) Isaji, Asika Mongkolprasert, Cherngyoot Lerdkasem, Maythanee Thawatpongsri, and pianist Tanutt Tanavoravongsa. Their musical backgrounds include performances with leading youth orchestras, national and international competitions, music festivals, masterclasses and advanced studies at institutions including Mahidol University.
The programme offers a rich journey through classical and Romantic repertoire, opening with the first movement of Gyula Dávid’s Viola Concerto, followed by the exhilarating Presto from J. S. Bach’s Sonata for Violin Solo No. 1 in G Minor.
The musical journey continues through the distinctive voices of some of classical music’s celebrated composers. Audiences will hear the Spanish character of Édouard Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnole, the lyrical beauty of Rachmaninoff’s Romance in A Minor, the dramatic energy of Saint-Saëns’ Danse Macabre, and the expressive charm of Fritz Kreisler’s Liebesleid.
The programme also features the first movement of Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1, followed by two works by Pablo de Sarasate—Spanish Dance No. 1 – Malagueña and the virtuosic Zigeunerweisen, Op. 20. The programme concludes with Erich Wolfgang Korngold’s Tanzlied des Pierrot, Op. 12.
Behind this concert is the spirit of the Chiangrai Youth Orchestra (CYO), founded in 2001 by Ajarn Porames Lertkasem. Beginning with free violin lessons for students in Chiang Rai, the initiative developed from a group of around 50 students into an orchestra of more than 80 young musicians. Today, its members focus primarily on violin, viola, cello and double bass, with musicians selected from more than 300 young people who audition each year.

Amarad Khamsom is a young Thai violist currently studying viola with Miti Wisuttumporn while completing Grade 11 through homeschool education. He has gained extensive orchestral experience with ensembles including the Bangkok Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, Thailand Youth Orchestra, Siam Sinfonietta, CU Symphony Orchestra, and the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music Youth Orchestra, where he has served as Co-Principal Viola since 2023.
His achievements include First Prize in the Youth Category at the Thailand String Competition 2024 and a Gold Prize at The VII International Liszt French Competition 2024 Thailand Preliminary. Amarad has also participated in several music programs and camps, including Omri Chamber, Pattaya Youth String Academy, Bandung Philharmonic Orchestra Academy, and Music on the Move, receiving full scholarships for selected programs.
Yostirta Isaji
Violin
Born in Bali, Indonesia, Yostirta “Yos” Isaji began studying violin at the age of seven and has developed extensive international experience in orchestral and chamber music.
His performance experience includes serving as First Violin with the Penang Philharmonic Orchestra and Penang Symphony Orchestra, appearing as a guest performer in Rondo Production’s SYNC Quartet concerts, and participating in charity concerts across Indonesia and Malaysia.
Yos studied under Robert Brown and Alyssa Khong and has participated in masterclasses with Jae Sern Lim and Brian Larson. He is currently a first-year Violin Performance student at the College of Music, Mahidol University, studying under Dr. Paris Paraschoudis.
Asika Mongkolprasert
Violin
Asika Mongkolprasert is a violinist and former member of the Thai Youth Orchestra under Royal Patronage, performing with the orchestra from 2019 to 2024 in numerous national and international concerts.
Her international experience includes participating in the International Alicante Youth Orchestra Festival (FIJO), where she performed in six concerts with the Thai Youth Orchestra and in collaborations with youth orchestras from Thailand, Venezuela, Poland, and Spain.
Her achievements include a Gold Prize at the Alessandro Giuliani Violin Competition Thailand Round in 2019 and a Silver Medal at the Nanyang International Music Competition 2021. She also performed in the Thai Youth Orchestra x Harvard University Charity Concert in 2022. Asika is currently a second-year Classical Music Performance student majoring in Violin, with Cello as her minor, at the College of Music, Mahidol University.
Cherngyoot Lerdkasem
Violin
Cherngyoot Lerdkasem began studying violin at the age of four with Ajarn Paramet Lerdkasem. From 2020 to 2024, he served as Concertmaster of the Chiangrai Youth Orchestra and is currently studying under Dr. Paraschos Paraschoudis at Mahidol University.
His performance experience includes appearing as a violin soloist with Omiros Yavroumis and the Phuket Youth Orchestra in 2022, serving as violin soloist and concertmaster of the Northern Thailand United Youth String Orchestra in 2021, and performing as a violin soloist with Richard Harvey in Chiang Rai in 2020.
Cherngyoot has participated in masterclasses with Yorrick Troman, Liesbeth Baelus, Shuxiang Yang, and Simin Ganatra. In 2025, he won First Prize at the Thailand International Youth Classical Music Competition in the Violin Senior Class, Advanced Category.
Maythanee Thawatpongsri
Violin
Maythanee Thawatpongsri is an undergraduate violin student at the College of Music, Mahidol University. She began studying violin at the age of eight and has trained with Sunthon Luangsupachaikul, Anun Benjamala, and Kamol Buranakul.
She has performed extensively as both a soloist and concertmaster and has received numerous awards, including First Prize at the Sugree Charoensook International Music Competition 2022. She also holds an LTCL Diploma with Distinction.
Maythanee has participated in masterclasses with internationally recognized musicians including Christian Altenburger, Barbara Łypik Sobaniec, and Peter Schuhmayer. Selected for the Erasmus+ Outbound Exchange Program, she studied at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow with Prof. Aleksandra Maria Steczkowska. She later made her debut with the Mahidol Symphony Orchestra, performing Vieuxtemps’ Violin Concerto No. 5.
Tanutt Tanavoravongsa
Piano
Born in 1993, Tanutt Tanavoravongsa began studying piano at the age of five through Yamaha’s JMC and JXC programs. He later entered Mahidol University’s Pre-College Program and earned a Bachelor of Music in Classical Piano Performance under Dr. Wenhui Lily Lin.
He completed a Master’s degree in Music Research and Development (Piano) at Silpakorn University under Dr. Pornphan Banternghansa. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at the Faculty of Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University, while working as a collaborative pianist at Mahidol University.
His competition achievements include Second Prize at the 4th International Mozart Competition in 2014, Silver Prize at the 17th Settrade Youth Competition in 2015, and Third Prize in the Duo Category at the Princess Galyani Vadhana International Ensemble Competition in 2017. He has also participated in masterclasses with Naoki Sekino, Mitra Alice Tham, and other distinguished musicians.
